sort of what i once said somewhere else:

what should be cliche is instead complex. there are no happy endings only real-world uncertainties about liberalism. made especially believable by ryan gosling. when he says something in the jargon of his students he does so with a self-deprecating lilt but also a confidence in its appropriateness. i cant think of another young actor who could pull off the same. instead i imagine loud appropriations from the mtv.
