snow angels is loosely adapted from the stuart o nan novel and is therefore the first david gordon green did not wholly write himself, and the film suffers for it; without greens meditative whimsy the movie is hollywood shock predictable. i never bought kate beckinsale. or sam rockwell. and i sure as shit didnt buy amy sedaris. not surprisingly, i found the younger actors fantastic; greens strength. and i was, as always, taken with the way the film looked. or as green himself told us after the showing: tim orrs cool.
